Evaluating

I really enjoyed the experience of pitch day. Listening to our class and the other classes section my group all commented on how there were a few reoccurring ideas (sustainability rewards programs and subscription services were common themes), and I thought that was really interesting. While the idea was to come up with new ideas, I think many people realized that rewards programs and subscription services required minimal change but could easily help to change consumers behavior. Both of these programs also feel like very familiar ideas to consumers at this point so it wouldn’t create as much confusion on the part of the consumer.

I also had a lot of fun pitching to people and adapting on the fly to what people seemed to be really enjoying versus what they were confused about. A lot of people really liked the idea of our community sustainability days so I made a point to include that in all of my pitches. It was also really useful to see what people were struggling with, which for us was a lot about why Delta would enact this program and concern over whether it would be a profitable endeavor. While the reality is we can’t know if this program would actually be profitable for Delta, my group realized that we need to find a way to address this issue better if we really want to have a solid idea.

After consolidating our feedback, economic feasibility is definitely what my group feels is our “big” problem to address. However, we also got a lot of feedback about smaller changes to address things that we all agreed could help strengthen our program and were easy to implement. In the positive feedback, a lot of people really liked the ideas of the community sustainability days, and that this program carried over old loyalty points and required no new “signing-up” for the customer. Moving forward, we know we can make some of the smaller changes to make our program better, and that we should continue to emphasize the community days, but we know we will have to figure out how to address the concerns over profitability.
